International Blackjack Opportunities

If you haven’t indulged in any of the casino games as yet then believe me you have missed something. But still it’s never too late to start. Black jack is the best option as far as I am concerned as it has lot to offer for the beginners.

Whatever the legal infraction was, they took it very seriously.

Mickey, to his credit, got off the airplane and came back to help. We explained how we had won the money gambling and weren't aware of the prohibitions on taking Korean currency abroad. The situation looked pretty bleak, but in the end, I think the fact that I wasn't trying to hide the money convinced them it was an honest mistake. They finally released me after a long and nerve-racking ordeal, which caused us to miss our flight home. It then took two more days to get out of a country we were fast beginning to hate.

 SIDE TRIPS

The trip wasn't entirely without laughs. At the Olympus casino in Inch on, Mickey and I were the only players in the entire club. The place was deader than a funeral parlor-no music played, no slot machines jingled. There was no noise, period. You could have fired cannon in the casino and nobody would have been hurt.

We had entered the casino separately, but only a few minutes apart. The strategy was to act like we were strangers to reduce heat. Both of us got a positive shoe right off the bat and just started pounding the blackjack tables.

A pit boss with thick glasses paced nervously and watched as two young high rollers just a few feet apart bet the casino maximum while pretending not to know each other. We only lasted three shoes before he stepped over to my table and said, "Please leave casino and take your American friend with you."

Another humorous incident happened, at a casino on the idyllic island of Cheju. Other expert players had advised us to take very few bathroom breaks in Korea. The reason was because the pit bosses were so polite that they seldom barred card counters at the table. Instead, they preferred to wait until you stepped away to avoid embarrassing anyone else in the casino.

I adjusted accordingly and put in a grueling marathon session at the blackjack tables. After a long day of nature calling, I finally answered and went off to the bathroom. Sure enough, on the way back a very apologetic supervisor met me. He told me that I could no longer play blackjack at his casino, which didn't surprise me, but then he said something that did. He offered to return all the money I had lost during the day. Now, it wasn't a large amount (only about a hundred bucks in American currency), but the offer totally shocked me. Never before or since has that happened to me.

Aside from the adventure of traveling to Asia, it's only fair to analyze whether it was worth it. Let me give one more example of a great game and then, We can do the math.

Belgium is a small country with a long history, but I didn't fly all the away cross the Atlantic for the crepes or the culture-I anted to attack the casinos. A couple of them offered the rare and seldom seen full-fledged version of early surrender-a tremendous option that made many early counters like the Czech team rich in Atlantic City before the casinos changed the rules.

I didn't experience any life-threatening situations in Belgium, but I did have some problems that are fairly common if you choose to play abroad. This trip is a good example of some of the subtle. changes you encounter when you step away from the familiar sights and sounds of home.

The biggest drawback to foreign travel is the expense. Typically, you have to fork out at least $500 for the plane ticket. Another disadvantage is that comps are either nonexistent or much less prevalent outside the States. In Belgium and Korea, I had to pay for my hotel room and most of my meals. In Nevada, I never paid for either.

Double Downs & Splits

Casino games are the best source for the gamblers to earn lot of quick money. Winning and loosing is the part of the game I am playing this game from many years not because it helps in making big money but I plays this game as I have huge passion towards this game.

Here's a chart of the bust-out rates for the dealer depending on her upcard. It's important to examine these so you can see the importance of standing on stiff versus stiff. Remember, you've got to be alive at the end of the hand if you want to have any chance of winning because "Dead men don't get paid."

 DOUBLE DOWNS

The next block to tackle is the hard double downs. These can be real moneymakers, and the entire trip often comes down to whether you win or lose these big hands. The strategy for them is actually fairly elementary, especially for multiple decks. (The reason some boxes have D/H is that you can only double down on your original two cards, so if you have a three-card 11 versus a 7, then you would hit rather than double.)

'Anytime you have a hard eight or less you always hit. This is so simple even a dog could learn it without going to obedience school. There are three hard hands (9, 10, or 11) where you double down, and the correct time to do this is exactly the same as in the Microwave strategy. However, one of the hardest plays to make is PUshing out a couple more chips to double on your 11 when the dealer shows a face card. What scares most players away from this

,venture is the fear that the dealer might already have 20. But the  odds favor the brave in this scenario, and. you will• make more money over the long run by taking the extra risk and doubling down against her 10.

 SPLITS

Basic strategy is simply a determination of the most cost-efficient play in each situation. It never means you will win if you hit rather than stand. It just gives you the optimal play to make. Sometimes it prompts you to be aggressive by instructing you to double down rather than hit. Other times it takes on a defensive posture and minimizes your losses with the weaker hands.

Both the offensive and the defensive components of basic strategy are displayed in pair splits. A pair of 7s best illustrates this. When you're dealt a hard 14, you're an underdog against even the dealer's worst cards (5 or 6). However, if the 14 consists of two 7s, then you also have the option of splitting rather than just standing or hitting. And splitting the 7s turns a big underdog (approximately 17 percent) into a heavy favorite against a 5 or 6.

You also split for defensive reasons. Getting dealt 16 against a face card is your worst starting hand. You are dead in the water no matter how you play it. Yet if the 16 is two 8s, splitting reduces your. overall loss considerably from either of the normal choices of hitting versus standing. It is the lesser of two evils, but easily the smartest way to salvage some money from a losing position.

Most hands, however, are split when the dealer is weakest. This is also true for double downs-when you are fortunate enough to be playing against a 4, 5, or 6 upcard you typically want to go gangbusters, and get as much money into playas possible. Against the bigger upcards (7-A) you tend to split and double down much less often. These are extremely important principles to keep in mind and will greatly aid your comprehension of basic strategy.

You probably noticed there are several differences in pair splitting from the Microwave strategy. This might be a little more confusing to memorize, but you can divide them into more manageable groups.

You still always split aces and 8s and never split 5s and 10s.

The way you play any of the following pairs-2, 3, 6, or 7-is virtually identical: all will get split against any dealer upcard of 2-7 (except for 6-6 versus 7, which is hit).

"WINNING STRATEGY"

On every occasion when I play any game I only have one thing in mind that is just winning whether its casino or any other game .If you want to win a game you must have strategy in mind it’s the basic for winning any game. Let me tell you something about winning skills of casino.

There is no preset order of winning combinations or trigger that sets in motion a different winning combination possibility because the last spin was a winner or a loser. No, it is random every time the reels are spun.

Therefore, that a machine hits the jackpot on spin one, doesn't lessen the chances one iota that it wouldn't hit that same jackpot combination on spin two. At the same time, it doesn't increase the odds either, but the point is this: You've got a hot machine that is spewing out winners. That's what you look for in a casino.

Of course, if you're done gambling for a while, this is a perfect time to take a break, and what better way than with a mighty jackpot. Sweet potato pie! But if you're still geared for action, why walk form the horse that brought you through the pearly gates?

WINNING STRATEGY

Playing Machines that Just Hit the Jackpot #2 Progressive Slots

In the above example, we talked about hitting the big payout on a machine that was hot and sticking with that machine if you were still in the gambling mood. But that was for non-progressive machines.

With progressive machines, it is an entirely different strategy that we will pursue. Once a progressive jackpot is hit, whether that jackpot is linked to other machines in the casino, throughout a larger jurisdiction, or even resides solely on the machine itself, than you must immediately call it quits with the machine you're playing, and any other machine that is linked up to that progressive system.

Your average percentage payback in slots, what we refine into the terms "loose" or "tight," is dependent on the payback chart listed on the machine itself.

To use an easy example, let's take 100 coins, paint sixty of them red, and thirty-nine of them green, and one of them is blue. If we pick a coin blindly from the bowl and it is green, we will win $1, if it is blue, $20, and if it is red, we lose $1. Every time we finish picking, we throw the coin back in the bowl and try again.

This analogy is pretty close to what actually occurs with slots payouts, only in our simple example, there are only two winning combinations, the green and blue, not ten or twenty as we might find at an actual machine.

Let's examine what are chances of winning are. Thirty-nine green coins will pay us one dollar each for a total of$39. One blue coin will pay us $20. We have a total of $59 we can win against $60 we could lose. Overall, out of every hundred coins picked, at one dollar each, our expectation would be for a $1 loss. That translates to a 1 % house edge, very little, what we would call a very loose machine. A goodie.

Let's now presume that this game is a progressive game, and since the blue coin hadn't been picked in a while, it had risen to the high value of a twenty coin payout, from its original starting payout of ten coins. On your next pick, bingo, you get the blue coin and get paid $20 for your good luck.

Great, let's say you're up $15 in the game now, but since the blue coin, our "progressive" was hit, the winning combination is now down to a ten coin payout.

This changes everything. Let's examine what your payback percentage would be. Your odds of winning are still exactly the same as before. But your payouts for these wins are not! Thirty-nine greens pay us $39 as before, sixty reds lose us $60, also as before, but the blue, now pays only $10. Our winning combinations total $49 our losing combinations total $60, for an expected net loss on every hundred picks of $11, or an 11 % house edge. This is not a loose slot at all, but a very tight one. Where as before you had a great game going, giving you but a 1 % nut to crack, you'll be losing big time at this game now.

ADVANSCE METHODES OF PLAYING BLACKJACK

I want to tell you some advance methods of playing blackjack. Because Mostly players using same methods for playing in casino.

Surrender not an option: In some casinos, you may surrender (fold) your hand and forfeit half of your bet if you don’t like your first two cards. Since it is not an option in Atlantic City, it is also not an option in the baseline.

All ties are pushes: If your hand ties the dealer’s, you neither win nor lose and no money changes hands. This is a standard rule in casino blackjack, so you don’t need to ask about it. i, on occasion, a casino gets greedy and changes this rule, you will know about it quickly enough.

Natural pays 3 to 2: Assuming the dealer also doesn’t have a natural (which would be a push), your natural will pay off at 3 to 2 odds. This is often (but not always) imprinted on the felt. In any case, the rule is so standard that you don’t need to ask. When a casino changes this rule, they almost always place a sign to that effect on the table.

BLACKJACK RULE VARIATIONS

The rule variations described in this section are commonly found in gambling jurisdictions outside of Atlantic City. Most of the variations are minor and have only a small effect on the house edge.

Single-, double-, or four-deck game: One-, two-, or four-deck games are not as prevalent as six- or eight-deck games because they give the player a better advantage. However, in most cases, other rules are changed to compensate for this and bring the house edge back up again. A few one- or two-deck games can be found in most gambling venues except Atlantic City.

Dealer must hit soft 17: When the dealer hits a soft 17, the rule is always imprinted on the felt tabletop. This rule, which increases the house edge by 0.2%, used to be found only in Northern Nevada and downtown Las Vegas. Now it has spread to many Strip casinos, riverboat casinos, and tribal casinos. Atlantic City casinos still stand on a soft 17.

Double down restrictions: Most casinos allow doubling down on any two card total, but some casinos impose limitations. In Northern Nevada and downtown Las Vegas (except the Golden Nugget), for instance, you may double down only on a total of 10 or 11, giving the casino an added advantage of almost 0.2%. In Europe, doubling is restricted to 9, 10, or 11, which increases the house edge by 0.1%.

No doubling down after splitting: Many casinos do not allow you to double down after splitting, which increases the house edge by more than 0.1%. You will have to ask the dealer or a floor supervisor if doubling after splitting is permitted.

Lose all to a natural: In some casinos, where the dealer does not peek at the hole card (or it is not dealt) until all the players have acted on their hands, all increased bets made as a result of doubling and splitting are lost to a dealer’s natural. Because this is prevalent in Europe, it is called the European No-Hole-Card Rule. This rule is also applied in Australia. If you use the correct strategy, the casino’s gain is only about 0.1%.

Replanting aces allowed: After splitting a pair of aces, some casinos permit resplitting a third ace. This is a minor benefit to the player, amounting to less than a 0.1% gain.

Surrender is an option: If you don’t like your initial hand, some casinos allow you to fold your hand in return for half of your bet. This is a minor benefit to the player—less than 0.1%. When surrender is offered, it is usually at a multi-deck game. It is no longer an option in Atlantic City but can be found at most Strip casinos as well as many riverboat and tribal casinos.

Natural payoff worse than 3 to 2: More and more often, you will find reduced payoffs of 6:5 or even 1:1. The 1:1 payoff is found in a copyrighted single-deck version called “Super Fun 21.” Some casinos have gotten around the copyright by offering a similar game with a 6:5 payoff on naturals. A reduced payoff for a natural is usually indicated by a sign on the table. The good news is that reduced payoffs are not likely to be found in multi-deck games.

METHOD OF PLAYING BLACKJACK

I told you the method of playing black jack in casino

This is a variant method. The table is read, essentially, in the same manner as Table 1.

Observe that for certain values of N (recall that N is the number of unseen cards) the computation of the running index corresponding to x uses the corrections b(x) and c(x). We must therefore explain what these corrections are. This is done in Table 3, which is read as follows: When the running count x is between two of the numbers in the first column, on the same row, the corrections b(x) and c(x) are given in the second and third column, respectively.

It is easy to remember the values of the correction b, if we observe that they are equal to the first digits of the numbers in the first column.

The introduction of the corrections b and c facilitates and speeds the computation of the running index, in actual games. The idea of using these corrections is due, essentially, to Simon Caruthers.

The following examples should further clarify the computation of the running index.

If N is between 67 and 80, and the running count is 17, we use the row 67,80:x - x+c(x) of Table 2, and obtain the running index 17+c(17) 17+4=21.

If N is between 134 and 166, and the running count is 24, we use the row 134, 166:x - x/2 +b(x) of Table 2, and obtain the running index 24/2+b(24)= 12+2=14.

If the running count is negative, for example —18, we compute first the running index corresponding to 18 and then, we multiply by —1. If, for instance, N is between 134 and 166, the running index corresponding to 18 is 18/2+b(18)=9+ 1 10. Therefore, the running index corresponding to —18 is —10.

When we must divide by 2 and when the division cannot be performed exactly, we replace x by x + 1, if N is greater than 100 and by x — 1, if N is less than 100.

We conclude that the running index corresponding to —25 is —15.

Observe that Table 3 does not define the values of the corrections h and c, for running counts between 1 and 10. In actual blackjack games we use Table 4, to determine the running index, when the run- fling count is between —10 and +10 and N is between the numbers listed in the first column. For other values of N, we use Table 2, no matter what the running count is. For instance, if N is between 67 and 80 and the running count is 7, the running index is 9. If N is between 105 and 133 and the running count is —6, the running index is —8. If N is between 34 and 40 and the running count is 9, the running index is 22. If N is between 167 and 208 and the running count is —5, the running index is —3.

Advanced Level Blackjack Strategies

Here I want to tell you about the advance level of the black jack strategy which helps You and trended you the way of playing in online casino . Here are some points relating to this strategy.

When the dealer shows an ace up card, you'll be asked whether or not you want to make the insurance bet. You must calculate the true count without any rounding to determine if insurance is a good bet. When your true count equals or exceeds the true count index listed above, take insurance. If it does not, than pass on the insurance bet.

You will follow one playing strategy when the true count exceeds the index number and an alternate strategy if it is equal to or less than the index number.

On negative induces, such as -1 when you hold 13 vs. dealer 2, you follow basic strategy and stand when true count is 0, + 1, + 2, + 3, etc. You would deviate from basic strategy and hit if true count is -1, - 2, -3, etc.

Notice that the range of induces listed in the table is + 5 to -1. This is exactly the true count range that 1 play.

If you add up the above plays and throw in insurance, the total is 16. The two additional plays listed by Schlesinger that I've never used are 12 vs. 5 and 13 vs. 3 because the strategy index is - 2 (I don't play when the true count is -2 so why learn this play).

By now you're probably asking yourself "how am 1 going to learn all this stuff." You have a lot more options than 1 did. The way 1 learned the above is to put the play on one side of an index card and the index number on the other side. Then 1 flipped through those index cards one at a time until 1 memorized the index number for the play. 1 would set aside those index cards that gave me trouble and concentrated on them. To this day, 1 still have these index cards and 1 still go through them before every casino trip.

If you own a personal computer, there is an easier way to learn and practice the above strategy deviations. 1 can recommend Stanford Wong's Blackjack Count Analyzer software program. With it you can learn how to count cards and practice the above strategy deviations in an efficient manner.

Summary : -

To master the advanced level playing strategy presented in this chapter you must do the following:

1. Memorize the basic playing strategy.
2. Learn how to count the cards.
3. Use the running count to vary your bet size in single and double deck games.
4. Learn how to convert the running count to true count.
5. Use the true count for bet size variation in multiple deck games.
6. Also use the true count for varying your playing strategy and determining when to take insurance (for all games).
7. Avoid over betting.
8. Avoid playing in negative counts.
9. Play like a loser; watch your jump in bet size; keep your playing sessions short.
10. be happy and glad with small wins ("take the money and run".
